Johannes T. Doerflinger

I studied psychology from 2010 to 2016 at the University of Konstanz. In my thesis the effect of self-regulation on economic decision making was investigated and I developed a new task paradigm to explore escalation of commitment by bringing the game of poker into psychology labs. Currently I’m a PhD Candidate at the Graduate School of Decision Sciences and associated to the Chair of Social Psychology and Motivation.

In my work my major focus is on the motivational and cognitive components of moral judgment, as well as the moral self. I enjoy interdisciplinary work at the intersection of philosophy, psychology, and economics. I’m interested in learning and developing new research methods and paradigms.
