Motivational Interviewing and (risky) alcohol and THC consumption

For a project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and in cooperation with the AG Clinical Psychology (Prof. Mier), we look for master students who want to be trained in motivational interviewing and write their master thesis in the Winter Semester 2021/2022 or the Summer Semester 2022.

Motivational interviewing is a client-centered technique that aims to reduce ambivalence and increase the intrinsic change motivation of participants. It was developed in the context of substance addiction therapy but is used in many circumstances today. Interested students will get training in motivational interviewing and will have the chance to apply their newly-learned skills in the investigation. The investigation aims to assess alcohol and THC consumption among students.
